We are thankful

Baylee Joy

Amelia Jule

The girls got all dressed up for their first Thanksgiving Brunch. We went to Jake's in Eagan for their Thanksgiving buffet with grandma and grandpa I, Janice, Brianna, Zoey, Julie, Craig and Davis. The buffet was good, mommy's favorite was the sweet potatoes, Davis liked them too. Davis really liked the buffet, mashed potatoes were everywhere. Mommy wonders what the floor will look like next year when we have two-one year olds and a two year old, bless the waiters. Everyone had a good time. Afterwards, since we had no where else to go, we hung out at the grandparents house. We took some photos with Brianna and Zoey too. Janice and Mommy played cards, mommy won more games :)!!! The Knochenmus' came over in the late afternoon, so we got to spend some time with them too. Then around 8:30pm Mommy sent Daddy and the girls home so she could go to Albertville Outlets to do some Midnight Madness shopping. Auntie Julie and Kari went with. We couldn't believe the deals we got at Baby Gap and Carter's. But we really couldn't believe the way some people acted, they ripped down displays, pushed and shoved, and cut in line to pay (Mommy got frustrated at this). But in the end we got good deals and were out of there by 12:01. Going early paid off, we parked right by Carter's. I don't think we will repeat that next year, the line was a couple of miles down the highway when we left. Mommy got $690 worth of clothes for $220 at Carter's, she is still amazed. It equaled out to 25 outfits for each(pj's, outfits and spring clothes). We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! We did! Our family is thankful this year for all the love and support we received!! Mommy and Daddy are most thankful for their two little girls :)

Just hanging out

The girls and I are just hanging out with Grandma I. She is STILL doing her tree, she likes everything one perfectly. Her tree looks really good when she does finish. Well, I have been productive lately. I am actually done christmas shopping for the extended families, they are wrapped and under the tree too. I wanted to get things done so we can enjoy the season. We are planning on going to Carter's at Midnight on Black Friday morning, they have spectacular deals and worth our time. We just need to get a few things for the girls for christmas (clothes) and then we are done. The girls are growing so much, they are definitely too big for newborn clothes anymore, they are wearing 0-3month clothes, so we are buying 3-6 for the rest of the winter season. The girls were starting on their medicine for their over and under active thyroid, I know it is confusing but their levels for both tests are either too high on the low one or too low on the high one. They have to be on medicine so it doesn't give them brain damage, this medicine will help even the levels out so they can get all their IQ points (those were the doctors words). We are just happy they figured out what was wrong. It seems they will have to take a pill a day until at least two and possibly longer. It is interesting though, we have to crush the pill and formula and feed it on a spoon. The girls actually open their little mouths for it. I pretended to give Baylee a banana today and she opened her mouth wide. My mom and I laughed but Baylee didn't think it was nice to be teased. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I know what we are thankful for this year, our two blessings!!

A Saturday off

Well, I was just getting up this morning to get ready for work, when Steve called to tell me I didn't need to come in, Joyce was ill. I hope she is feeling better. We will be working tomorrow. We decided to do some shopping instead. I want to finish our christmas shopping so we can enjoy the season instead of worrying about the presents. Our original plan was to go to the Mall of America (I have a great coupon for Carter's), but after seeing the line up on the highways to get in, we sped right by and went to Burnsville. Well, it was a little better we did find a parking spot. However, it was very crowded with apparently very busy people. We found some great deals at Sears for clothes, all the baby clothes were 50% off, which for us is Buy one Get one. I was excited to save on clothes. We found some cute christmas dresses with Pooh on them (imagine that). And some other christmas presents for the girls, shhhh...it's a secret. We gave up on the crowds after being there for 2 hours. We headed to grandma and grandpa I's house. Grandma I and I had an idea about putting the girls in her stockings and taking a picture. Well, after grandma set up the scene we took some photos, posted below. Mommy, Auntie Janice, Auntie Jeni, Marissa and Zachary all loaded up in the car to shop yet again!!! Daddy stayed home with the girls. Thanks Daddy!!! We went to Woodbury, Janice and Jeni found the greatest deals at Limited Too. Everything in the store was buy one get one, plus they had a 30% off their whole purchase coupon!!! I found some things on the clearance rack (my favorite spot) at Children's Place. We finished up at Walgreens, where they have toys on sale for only 5.99. We had a lot of fun and were very thankful Jeni didn't kill us on the drive home, I think Janice was praying the whole time :) Just kidding Jeni, thanks for driving.

A Day with Grandma I.

Yesterday, the girls needed to go get the rest of their shots, so we took grandma I along. She was busy doing her christmas tree when we got there. She wanted to have the girls pictures taken with her Mickey and Minnie, so here they are. The girls love to laugh with their grandma. She just loved to hold them both and giggle when they would give her one of their huge smiles. She also stuck them in their rather large stockings, sadly Mommy didn't have the camera ready for that one, but they sure did make cute stocking stuffers :). After the doctor appointment, Grandma and Mommy went on a quest to find cute christmas dresses for the girls. We both fell in love with a red and white polka dot Minnie Mouse dress at Babies R Us. Sadly, they only had one in their size. After Mommy had them call every store in MN to see if they had another, which turned up nothing, we headed to the Mall of America. The Disney Store had nothing, Carter's nothing, Sears nothing, and many other stores. I think Mommy was a little fussy after she found the one she liked at Babies R Us. We gave up. We did visit the new American Girl Store at MOA. It is really cool. If I were a little girl, that is the place I would want to go all the time. Even though my girls are to little to appreciate it, I think it is a place to visit often. Grandma I wants to get her 5 daughters and 5 granddaughters together to have a day there and eat at the cafe'. I reminded her of the grandsons and she said she would send all the boys (meaning Grandpa I, her son-in-laws, and the grandsons) to the Nick theme park for the day. I thought that sounded like fun, I hope we can all find an open day in all of our busy schedules. We then finished off our night with dinner at the grandparents. The girls were a little fussy and puky last night from their shots but did sleep for 6 whole hours last night before waking up for a bottle and then sleeping another 4 after that. A mom of twins couldn't ask for anything more. They are starting to wake each other up. They used to be able to sleep through the other's wails but now they must feel left out, they join the other's wails. Oh, well. Back to another day of enjoying being a mom to twin girls!!

Last Saturday night, we had a get together with Daddy's cousins. It was nice meeting them both. They are both preparing to get married, how exciting!!! You may wonder what we all are doing, well we are all on Facebook, looking at everyone's posts. Yes, facebook has become a new addiction for me. We have been able to reconnect with some people and just see what some have done since high school. I have also joined some groups of moms with twins. It is helpful to talk to other twin Moms. It is funny once someone joins and talks about it, it seems everyone else joins. Very interesting thing, facebook. I finally got the photos of the tree uploaded. The girls are able to sit up in their bumbo seats already. Amelia likes it but as you can see in the photo Baylee wasn't a fan at first, imagine that she hates her car seat too!! She did try again last night and she smiled for a photo and then let out a wail. We are off today to get the last two of their immunizations and to get blood drawn, yet again, UGH! We have to venture all the way to Children's for the blood draw. Wish us luck!!!

Sunday Relaxation with the Family

Today, neither one of us had to work. We actually all slept in this morning until 9:30. The girls went to bed at 9pm, but didn't wake until 3am for a bottle and then again at 6:45am. Mommy was so proud of them. After going through the Sunday paper (our favorite Sunday activity), we headed to Walgreens for some good deals they had, then to WalMart to do some household shopping and then finally to Cub for groceries. It was interesting going shopping, it takes us longer now, not because we have children in tow, because so many people want to stop and look at the girls. Mommy thinks, we've answered the same questions a million times. Today, a woman stopped us in one aisle in WalMart to look at the girls, inadvertly she blocked this other woman and let's just say the other woman was not happy. It is nice that others show an interest in the girls. We went home and Mommy got the great idea that we should start decorating for the holidays. Daddy wasn't too happy, but he went out and dragged in the christmas tree and preceded to put it up for the next hour while mom and girls snuggled on the couch. Daddy has got the hang of the christmas tree, he didn't utter one swear word. Way to go Daddy!!! This year in our new home, we don't have to tie the angel to the top because we have taller ceilings. It is now mommy's turn to put the lights on (or in her definition, throw them on the tree). Then we will all decorate, remembering to put any of the wood ornaments out of reach of our dog Daisy. We actually have 4 people done for christmas and mommy can wrap their gifts and stick them under the tree. It makes me feel good to get some of them done. Shopping early is good because the stores are still giving out good coupons, but once Thanksgiving comes they tend to stop and just do sales. Mommy made a yummy new recipe tonight, Caribbean Pork with tropical rice. Mommy has planned to try a new recipe every night this week. Tomorrow night, she is making Chicken and Bok Choy soup (not a new recipe but one of our favorites). Mommy is also going to try and make her own Never Fail Buns (a recipe from her grandma). Mommy is not sure she has the patience to bake buns. We took some photos tonight but haven't yet uploaded them, we did post bathtime at the Nguyens. The girls enjoy their baths, as long as the water is warm. The thing they absolutely hate is getting out. They don't like to be cold. We still bath them on the floor in the living room, easier on mommy's hip (she is going to physical therapy tomorrow to help recondition it after 4.5 months laying down-but worth every minute and every pain). After the bath if we don't empty it right away, our youngest dog Daisy thinks it is her turn. We have to dig her out after she gives her face and feet a bath. Mommy thinks she is a little jealous of the babies still. If mommy talks to the babies in a high pitch voice, Daisy comes running and wants all the attention, Minnie could care less (she's kind of a princess dog). Baylee is waiting for the water again in photo #1 and Amelia is looking at Mommy as if to say does my sister have to scream through my relaxing bath.

TGIF

We are expecting company tonight. A group of Tony's cousins from Nebraska are in town and are coming over for dinner tonight (roast pork, roast duck, white rice and yummy bread). They want to see the babies and have dibs on who is going to hold them. It should be fun, I hope the girls don't get crabby (they tend to have crying spells in the evening). We are still waiting for some of the results back from the girls tests. We received some but aren't going to worry until we go to the specialist next week, and I am not looking anything up on the internet before hand (ok Auntie Joyce), I promise. We are enjoying our beautiful little girls to the max. They were rather funny last night. We were cleaning for company coming and so we put Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the tv and they were both rather absorbed (hopefully not as absorbed as their father gets with tv :) ). They laugh now, a lot in their sleep but some when talked to. I personally feel their little smiles light up the room, but I am sure every mom thinks that. All is going to be well and we have faith that our little girls are going to be just great!!! Oh, the photo is of them sharing the bouncy seat while mom took their photo at work at Grace Park Studio, they kind of liked it for oh let's say 2 minutes. :) I have no idea why the bottom looks like that it was taken on my iphone.
